BBQ Baked Beans

Serves 6 to 8

This recipe for flavorful, smoky beans is a quick, 15-minute fix to feed a hungry crowd. Serve this classic, barbeque side dish with your favorite grilled meats and veggies.

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch lardons
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 4 (16 ounce) cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cups BBQ Sauce
  • 1/3 cup tomato paste

Directions:

  1. Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add bacon and cook until crisp. Stirring occasionally. Transfer to paper-towel lined plate and set aside.
  2. Remove all but 2 tablespoons bacon drippings from pot. Add onion and sauté 2 to 3 minutes or until onion is soft.
  3. Add beans, BBQ sauce, tomato paste, and 1/4 cup water. Stir to combine. Reduce heat to medium low.
  4. Bring to simmer and cook 8 to 10 minutes, until piping hot.
