Whiskey Sour (Batch Cocktail)

Makes about 6 servings

Making a quick simple syrup in advance, allows this batch-made take on a Whiskey Sour, to come together in an instant. Sweet, tart, and delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed Meyer lemon juice*
  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons simple syrup**
  • 1 1/4 cups whiskey
  • Ice, for serving
  • Lemon wedges, for garnish
  • Maraschino cherries, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Combine both juices and simple syrup in a pitcher. Stir. Refrigerate until chilled.
  2. Add whiskey just before guests arrive.
  3. Serve over ice. Garnish with lemon wedges and maraschino cherries.
  4. Chef's Note:
  5. Can't find Meyer lemons? Sub in regular lemon juice and add just a bit more simple syrup if you find the mix too tart.
  6. *Simple Syrup:
  7. Combine 1 cup water with 1 cup sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate until cold.
