Crab Tostaditas

Makes 12 tostaditas

These small party bites are easy to do at the last minute. Guests will enjoy the little bite of crunchy corn tortilla or chip with a dab of guacamole and a morsel of crab.


  • 2 oz Dungeness crab meat
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 12 small (about 1 1/2-inch) round or triangle-shaped corn chips or fried tortilla wedges
  • 1/3 cup Metropolitan Market Housemade Fresh Guacamole
  • Chipotle powder or chili powder
  • Cilantro leaves


  1. Heat the butter in a small skillet over low heat. Add the crab, cover with a lid and allow to warm very gently for about 3 minutes or until slightly warm. Turn off heat.
  2. Arrange the chips on a serving plate. Top each with about 1 teaspoon of guacamole followed by 1 teaspoon of crab. Sprinkle with chipotle powder and garnish each with a cilantro leaf.
  3. Serve immediately.

  5. To make fresh tortilla chips, cut corn tortillas with a round cookie or biscuit cutter into circle or cut with a knife into triangles. Place on a baking sheet, brush with oil, and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Bake in a 375° F oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until crisp.
