Homemade Strawberry Sauce Recipe
- 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 to 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- Combine the strawberries and sugar together in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, simmering until the berries begin to break down, 8 to 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water. Add to the strawberries and simmer 1 minute, or until thickened. Stir in the lemon juice, remove from the heat and cool to room temperature.
- Serve or chill, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
