Ham & Gruyere Egg Muffins
These savory egg bites are a delicious way to use Metropolitan Market Kurobuta Ham. Metropolitan Market Prosciutto and Bacon are great substitutes, if you don't have ham.
Ingredients:
- 4 Metropolitan Market eggs
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 cup cream or milk
- 1/2 cup Metropolitan Market Kurobuta Ham, diced
- 4 leaves fresh basil
- 1/4 cup grated gruyere or mild cheddar cheese
- 1 Tbsp butter, for greasing the ramekins
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- In a medium bowl, whisk eggs with salt and pepper until blended. Whisk in cream or milk.
- Butter four (1/2-cup) ramekins or other baking molds. Place 2 tablespoons of ham in the bottom of each. Add one basil leaf, torn into pieces, and 2 teaspoons cheese. Carefully spoon egg mixture into each ramekin, dividing evenly.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until set.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, in ramekins or inverted onto plates.
