Prawns Saute with Mushrooms

Serves 4

Whole shrimp and mushrooms make a speedy dinner or appetizer.


  • 24 prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup Metropolitan Market Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 12 to 24 small button mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp parsley, minced
  • Warm crusty bread or hot cooked rice


  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; add garlic and red pepper flakes and stir for 10 seconds. Add the prawns and mushrooms and cook, stirring often, for 3 minutes or until prawns are pink. Stir in lemon juice and parsley.
  2. Serve at once with crusty bread or rice. For a fun and easy appetizer, serve with toothpicks.
