This fun, sparkling mocktail highlights the flavors of fall.


  • 2 sage leaves, divided use
  • Crushed ice
  • 5 ounces sparkling apple cider
  • Dash non-alcoholic bitters
  • 1 thin apple slice, for garnish
  • Fresh grated nutmeg, for garnish


  1. Place a sage leaf in the bottom of a tumbler. Add a sprinkle of crushed ice. Use a muddler to crush sage against ice.
  2. Top off glass with more ice. Fill with sparkling cider. Add a dash of bitters. Stir gently.
  3. Garnish with a slice of apple, a sage leaf, and a few grates of nutmeg.
