Holiday Hug Cocktail Recipe

Holiday Hug Cocktail

Makes 1

Sophisticated notes of winter spices make this cocktail feel like a warm hug in cold weather. Let it dilute a bit while chilling in the mixing glass. For the best hug, use Averna or Ramazzotti amaro. If you'd like it to be a bit lighter, use Campari.

  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces dark rum
  • 1/2 ounce amaro
  • 1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • Orange twist or slice, for garnish

  1. In a mixing glass or shaker of ice, add rum, amaro, vermouth, and bitters. Stir until well chilled.
  2. Strain into an old-fashioned glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with orange twist.
