BBQ Oysters

Makes 1 dozen

What could be easier than this tangy, two-ingredient appetizer? If you are unsure about what type of oysters to get, ask our fishmongers for a seasonal recommendation?they are happy to shuck them for you, too!


  • 12 medium-to-large oysters, freshly shucked
  • 6 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives
  • Coarse salt or uncooked rice to level oysters while baking


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Spoon 1/2 tablespoon BBQ sauce on each oyster.
  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or just until oysters are cooked — edges of oysters will curl away from shell.
  4. Arrange on serving platter and sprinkle with chopped chives. Serve warm.
