Ana's Salsa Verde
MAKES ABOUT 1 1/2 CUPS
This tangy green salsa takes just a minute to make, and it's so much fresher and more delicious than anything you'll find in a jar.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces tomatillos (husks removed and coarsely chopped)
- 1/4 small white onion
- 1/2 serrano pepper (chopped, more or less, to taste)
- 1/3 cup cilantro
- 1 clove garlic (coarsely chopped)
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (plus more to taste)
- 1/2 medium avocado (diced)
Directions
- Combine all ingredients except avocado in blender container. Whirl until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides of container once or twice. Taste and adjust seasoning, to preference.
- Scrape salsa into bowl. Stir in avocado. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Keeps for a couple of days with avocado or add avocado when ready to serve.
