Amaro Old Fashioned Cocktail Recipe

Amaro Old Fashioned Cocktail

Makes 1

We played with one of the oldest mixed cocktails to bring you a rich and balanced drink - like a dessert for adults! The sugar is substituted by Averna Amaro which is sweet with a beautiful blend of spices. If you cannot find Averna, Ramazzotti would be great, too. It's a little less complex but is a very versatile amaro.

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 1 ounce bourbon
  • 2 ounces Amaro Averna
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Orange peel, for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a mixing glass half full of ice, combine bourbon, Amaro Averna, and Angostura bitters. Stir until chilled.
  2. Strain, and pour into a glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with orange peel.
