How to Create a Waffle Board
Look for ready-to-eat Belgian waffles in our Bakery, or pick up your favorites from the freezer. We recommend offering a combination of savory and sweet toppings, but you can tailor the board to your taste. Plan on 2- 3 waffles per person.
Ingredients:
- EASY PREP ITEMS:
- Metropolitan Market Applewood Smoked Bacon
- Whipped Cream
- PREPARED ITEMS:
- Pick up from our Bakery
- Belgian waffles with sugar pearls
- Petite Belgian waffles
- COMPLEMENTARY ITEMS:
- Salted European butter
- Metropolitan Market Pure Maple Syrup
- Metropolitan Market French Brie
- Chocolate hazelnut spread
- Chopped hazelnuts
- Strawberries
- Bananas
- Fresh basil
Directions:
- Prepare bacon and whipped cream. Slice the strawberries. Refrigerate whipped cream and berries until ready to serve.
- Half an hour before serving, start assembling the board. Save bananas and slice just before serving.
- If using frozen waffles, heat them according to package instructions.
- Cook’s Tip:
- If desired, partially dip some waffles in melted chocolate and top with additional chopped chocolate or sprinkles. Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second increments, stirring in between and being careful not to burn. Allow to dry on a rack over a parchment-lined baking sheet.
