Radish and Butter Tea Sandwiches

Simple ingredients come together to create edible art. Splurge on the best butter you can findit will elevate the humbler components. A carefully wielded mandoline makes this stunning snack easy to prepare. 

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch radishes
  • 6 thin bread slices (white or rye), crusts removed
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/4 cup assorted fresh herbs (such as dill, mint, chives, thyme)

Optional Ingredients

  • Flakey finishing salt

Directions

  1. Using a mandoline or sharp knife, slice radishes paper-thin. Set aside. 
  2. Lay bread slices on a large cutting board. Butter the tops generously. 
  3. Arrange radish slices on the bread, overlapping them slightly. Cut into approximately 1.5-inch squares. Use a cookie cutter to create fun shapes. 
  4. Adorn with fresh herbs. Finish with a sprinkle of flakey salt, if desired.
