Sesame Kimchee Slaw Recipe

Sesame Kimchee Slaw

Serves 6

This easy and flavorful slaw was created to go with our Gochujang-Glazed Black Cod. Try it with grilled meats or other types of fish, too.


  • Salad:
  • 4 cups shredded purple or green cabbage, about 1/2 head
  • 2 cups shredded carrots
  • 1 cup diagonally sliced snap peas, or sliced green bell pepper
  • 1/2 bunch cilantro, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 cup kimchee, chopped or sliced
  • Dressing:
  • 4 tsp unsweetened rice wine vinegar
  • 4 tsp tamari or soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp fish sauce
  • Garnish:
  • 2 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds


  1. In a large bowl, combine salad ingredients.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together dressing ingredients.
  3. Drizzle dressing over salad and toss. Taste and add more vinegar or other dressing ingredients to your taste.
  4. Top with sesame seeds just before serving.
