Marinara Sauce Recipe

Marinara Sauce

Makes 3 cups, 4 (3/4 cup) Servings

Ripe canned tomatoes make a simple sauce for pasta or pizz

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp Metropolitan Market olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 - 1/2 tsp finely chopped garlic
  • 1 can(28 oz) Metropolitan Market Crushed or Rustic Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh oregano or basilor 1 tsp dried
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper

Directions:

  1. Heat olive oil over medium heat in a skillet then add onion and cook, stirring until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook until softened, about 1 minute. Add tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper and bring to simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.
